Our Purpose
The church which is built upon Christ and made up of His chosen people, born again through the saving power of His Blood and endowed with the Holy Spirit is to: gather together in His Name, teach the Bible, lead men to repentance; baptize in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; minister to the needs of people; guide in the maturing of Christians; guard the principles which His Word teaches; practice loving the brethren; and worship and praise God.
Our Objectives
- To know the love of God in Christ Jesus, to grow in appreciation of His love, and to show His love to all men.
- To be a covenant fellowship of Christians filled with the Holy Spirit.
- To be a worshiping fellowship in which God encounters man.
- To witness for Christ both in this community and throughout the world.
- To be a fellowship of maturing Christians whose learning results in responsible living.
- To minister unselfishly to all persons in the community in Jesus' name.
- To be a church that cooperates with other churches in ministering to the world according to Christian principles.
- To be a church whose purpose is to be Christ-like in our daily living by emphasizing total commitment of life, personality, and possessions to the Lordship of Christ.
- To help everyone feel at home and a part of this church and to experience the joy that is available in being involved in His service.
Statement of Faith
The Holy Bible is the inspired Word of God and is the basis for any statement of faith. The church subscribes to the doctrinal statement of The Baptist Faith and Message as adopted by the Southern Baptist Convention in 2000: "The Bible is inerrant and infallible in its original manuscript which is to be taken as verbally inspired." As a body of baptized believers in Jesus Christ, having been indwelt by the Holy Spirit at the time of conversion, we band ourselves together to share the good news of salvation to lost mankind. The ordinances of the church are Baptism and the Lord's Supper.
